The next Pokémon must start with the last letter of the previous Pokémon.
During every player's first turn, the first and last letters must be different.
After the first round, a Pokémon that starts and ends with the same letter is worth 2 points.
A maximum of 3 double-point words in a row is allowed.
A normal 1-point word or a skip resets the double streak.
Skipping gives 0 points and keeps the current required chain letter. You may skip a maximum of 3 times per game.
The game ends automatically when no unused Pokémon remain for the required starting letter. If a temporary rule blocks every move, the game also ends once all 3 skips are gone.
The Help button shows how many unused Pokémon are still possible for the current chain letter and how many are playable right now.
A Pokémon name can only be used once per game, across all regional forms. Nidoran uses one name for both appearances.
Shiny Pokémon: every accepted Pokémon has a 1 in 10 chance to appear shiny. A shiny Pokémon multiplies that turn's points by ×2.
Type bonus: every turn receives one random Pokémon type. If the Pokémon played has that type, the turn's points are multiplied by ×2. This bonus is allowed on a player's first turn.
Multipliers stack: a double-point word that is both shiny and matches the type bonus is worth 8 points.
Singleplayer: the same rules apply with one player. Keep the chain going and build the highest score you can. Your personal best is saved in this browser.
